ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the Authority’s general ledger. Working under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manger directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Authority. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for preparing annual financial statements and coordinating the Authority’s annual audit.

The ideal candidate must be a Certified Public Account (CPA) with at least two years of experience in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, or the equivalent, as well as experience working with an automated financial management system. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) a must. The candidate must be a City of Pittsburgh resident at time of hiring, or become a resident within six months of hire, and remain so during employment with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority and possess and maintain a current and valid PA Driver’s License. The candidate must also successfully complete an Office of Municipal Investigation (OMI) background check.

The Pittsburgh Parking Authority seeks Full Time, Part Time and Temporary friendly, energetic, responsible team players for the Authority's facilities.

Responsible for performing a variety of facility/garage management and supportive functions which include, but not limited to: specialized reports, cashiering, preparing bank deposits, cleaning, maintenance, valeting cars ( ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle – stick shift), dealing with the public, operating and maintaining revenue control equipment, filling out reports, opening and closing of booths. Involves shift work.

Must have a current and valid PA Driver's License Must be or become a City of Pittsburgh resident at time of hiring and remain a City resident throughout employment. An Office of Municipal Investigation (OMI) background check is mandatory. H.S. diploma or GED is required. An associate or advanced degree with a background in accounting is an asset.

The Pittsburgh Parking Authority's Enforcement Division periodically seeks candidates to be placed on a part time eligibility list, who are friendly, energetic, courteous, responsible team players. Involves shift work day and evening shifts dependent on the needs of the department. Evening shift work driving to all Authority off-street metered lots, and enforcing violations therein. Also evening shift work pertaining to on-street meters and violations therein. Responsible for but not limited to: tagging of illegally parked vehicles, daily completion of assigned scheduled routes, accurate record keeping and the use of a computerized handheld ticket writing system and printer. Driving a vehicle following the street cleaning sweeper and tagging vehicles illegally parked. Enforcing the Residential Permit Parking (RPP) areas throughout the City.

An Office of Municipal Investigation (OMI) Public Safety background check is mandatory for all potential candidates. Must be able to drive and have a current and valid PA Driver's License. Must be or become a City of Pittsburgh resident at time of hiring. A high school diploma or GED is required.
